Charlie Cornell was enjoying his favorite past-time and had just made his find when he was getting prepared to sign the log with his famous initials. It's difficult to hold a container, a cap, a log, a baggie, a pen and a GPSr all at the same time, and so it was no surprise that he heard something fall. As he stepped back to pick it up, he heard the most heart-wrenching sound: he had just crushed his precious reading glasses.
As he contemplated with despair the irremediable damage to his spectacles, a passer-by chimed in:
- "Not a good way to start the day, huh?"
- "You bet." said Charlie laconically.
- "Actually, you might be in luck. I happen to be an eye doctor. My clients are very happy with my service and I'd be glad to help. Here is my card, contact me when you get a chance."
The stranger handed his card and promptly walked away. Still a bit unnerved by the incident, Charlie didn't get to respond and slowly gathered himself. He replaced the cache and finally took a look at the card.
