Geocache Description:

Cross under the tracks for this roadside cache. Please this place can be busy at times.

Badshot Lea is a small village on the edge of Farnham, Surrey on the border with Hampshire. Known in recent history for its hop production, the area has been inhabited since ancient times with evidence of Neolithic settlements found by the Surrey Archaeological society and the Long Barrow Burial mound which was discovered by the headmaster of the village school, William "Billy" Rankine in 1967. The village lies "Between Four Bridges" which along with the hops that once grew here are depicted in the badge of the local village Infants School and the village sports teams. This cache series will lead you to the four "corners" of the village and some of its history on the way.

The Railway arrived in 1848 providing a link to Guildford via Tongham. In 1870 the line under these bridges opened bringing the army to neighbouring Aldershot.
The cache is near one of the bridges which crosses over Lower Weybourne Lane with the bridge marking the boundary between the villages Badshot Lea and Weybourne.

Stealth needed for this cache as you will be visible by passing traffic. The small click-lock box has now been changed to a 35mm film cannister. Please return the cache so that it isn't visible to passers-by..
