Cesta za touto cache Vás zavede ke zricenine stredovekeho hradu Tolstejn (670m). Misto pro cache jako stvorene blizko zriceniny opredene legendami. Cache je umistena cca 300 metru od vstupu do hradu. Snadna pristupnost pro pesi, kolare i vyletniky s kocarky.
!!! POZOR: Puvodni keska byla znicena, 10.11.2013 byla obnovena v novem provedeni a na trosku odlisnem miste viz. nove souradnice !!!!

Tolstejn je nejlepe zachovanou hradni zriceninou v Luzických horach. Stoji asi 2 km jizne od Jiretina pod Jedlovou na vyraznem znelcovem skalnim suku (670 m), ktery je charakteristickou krajinnou dominantou. Jmeno hradu (nem. Tollenstein) bylo odvozeno od puvodniho nazvu skaly Dohlenstein (= Kavci kámen).
Tolstej se poprve pripomina roku 1337. Hrad byl vybudovan na ochranu cesty z Cech do Luzice a ve sve dobe byl vyznamnym a mocnym opevnenim. Prvnimi vlastniky byli Vartenberkové, priblizne az do roku 1402, kdy se hrad stal majetkem panu z Dube, kteri tak cele tolstejnske panstvi zaclenili mezi své ohromne drzavy na severu Cech. V roce 1481 ziskali panstvi i s hradem Slejnicove ze Saska (Jiri Slejnic v roce 1548 založil dnesni Jiretin pod Jedlovou). Po roce 1587 se v drzeni hradu vystridalo nekolik majitelu az v obdobi tricetilete valky roku 1642 hrad oblehla a ohnivymi strelami vypalila svedska vojska. Zcela vyhorely hrad uz nebyl nikdy obnoven. Vice o historii hradu na luzicke-hory.cz.
Me zkusenosti:
Toto misto je vhodne pro peknou prochazku z Jiretina nebo od vlaku, nebo i jako soucast delsiho vyletu po okoli. V blízkosti se nachází Krizova hora, Jedlova hora s rozhlednou, a další. Asfaltka vede az ke hradu. Kes je umistena cca 300 metru od vstupu do hradu, aby byl na jeji hledani klid. Na zrizeninu lze vylezt po zakoupeni zetonu v hradni restauraci. Z vrcholu je krasny vyhled.
Pri vyhledavani kesky neni nutne nic odhrabovat ci prehrabovat. Moc dekujeme.

Search for this cache will take you to a ruin of a medieval castle Tolstejn (670m). This place full of legend is the true cache location. Easy accessability for hikers, bikers and families with small kids (even with a buggy). Cache is placed about 300 metres from the main entrance to the castle.
History of this place (reffered from http://www.ceskosaske-svycarsko.cz/tourist-attractions/tolstejn-jackdawcastle.html) : Tolštejn is one of the most well preserved castle ruins in the north of the Luzické mountains. You can find this naturely dominating feature not far from Jiretin pod Jedlovou. The history of the castle started at the beginning of the 14th century when Jindrich z Lipe was its probable owner. In 1337 Vanek from Vartenberk inherited the castle and made Tolštejn the centre of the manor. The Vartenberks kept this magic place till the beginning of the 15th century. In 1402 the castle became the possession of the Berks from Duba and then, later, the Vartenberks regained the castle. During 30 years war (1618-1648) Tolstejn was burnt out and conquered by the Swedish army. Since that time the castle has remained a ruin but has changed owners several times. The ruins were eventually occupied by robbers and then local people used it for building material. In 1865 a pub was built there and managed, till 1977, by three generations of the Munzberg´family. In 1996 the pub was opened again due to the initiative of the town office of Jiretin pod Jedlovou. To get to the top of the rock you can climb up an iron staircase with a railing. From the rocky peak you can see the tops of the Luzické Mountains, Jiretin´s valley, Varnsdorf and Podluzí. And behind these two towns you can see the top of Lužická and the hilly country of Luzice. If you walk under the castle in a South-West direction you can find a very romantic little lake full of the lotuses and a fountain in which the sun and the top of the trees are mirrored. On the way from Jiretin you can also visit "The way of the Cross" and the mountain Jedlova with its stone view tower and a restaurant.
