Jak ke keši: Keš je jen pár kroků od silnice, v obou směrech najdete místo pro krátké odstavení auta. Keš je uložena asi 25 metrů od pamětní tabule. Signál je tu špatný, použijte nápovědu a/nebo fotohint.

Místo dopadu Mustangu P-51-D poručíka Oscara Ridleyho
V lese mezi obcemi Lány a Žilina (okr. Kladno), v místech, kde 18. dubna 1945 dopadl americký stíhací letoun P-51D Mustang, stojí deska s detailními informacemi o této události. Postarali se o ni členové Pražského leteckého archivu ve spolupráci s rakovnickým muzeem. Pilot 1/Lt Oscar T. Ridley z 362. perutě 357. stíhací skupiny 8. letecké armády měl na rozdíl od mnohých svých kolegů z předchozích dní štěstí. Nejenže se zachránil na padáku, ale podařilo se mu díky pomoci místních obyvatel uniknout zajetí. Tyto a další zajímavé informace naleznete na informační tabuli umístěné v místě dopadu.

The crash site of 1/Lt Ridley's P-51: A commemorative table in the woods near Lany, where a P-51D Mustang crashed on April 18, 1945, was unveiled under a common project of the aviation archaeology group called Prazsky letecky archiv (Prague Air Archive) and the local museum in the town of Rakovnik. Contrary to some of his colleagues on previous days, the pilot 1/Lt Oscar T. Ridley of the 362nd Squadron of the 357th Fighter Group of the Eighth Air Force had a lot of good luck. Not only he bailed out, but he also succeeded to avoid captivity thanks to the local citizens who hid him until the end of the hostilities.
