About the Area

Crowthorne station was opened in 1859 as a result of pressure from the governors of Wellington College on the directors of the South Eastern Railway. The College also contributed £500 towards the cost of building the station, which was originally named "Wellington College for Crowthorne". This name remained until 17th June 1928, when it was renamed "Crowthorne". The old name board remained until World War II, though, when it was removed to prevent invading parachutists knowing where they were. Crowthorne station is located some 2000m from its High Street where most of its shops are located.

Crowthorne closed to goods in 1964, but in 1987 the main station building, whilst under ownership by an electrical contractor, was extended slightly in materials almost matching the original. Most of the Reading-bound platform is however, not original. Most of this was remodeled in the mid-1980s as part of a job-creation scheme, involving the building of a well-styled waiting shelter and matching walls.

About the Cache

You are looking for a small cache that should be easy to find but keep a good look out for muggles in the cache area.
