Geocache Description:

St Silvans

This cache is part of an extension to Sadexploration’s immensely far–reaching Church Micro series.
The church is a small structure, picturesquely situated by the roadside among woods and fields. The adjacent Staffhurst Wood is an ancient wooded common of national importance lying on Weald clay and is noted for its Bluebells in spring - a sight not to be missed
The church is of unusual construction, up to the level of the cills of the windows the walls are of brick with occasional stones let in, and of half timber construction above i.e. plaster panels in oak framing. The roof is of tiles and there is a small wooden bellcote in the west gable containing one bell. The windows are of leaded lights, containing clear glass except for the east window, which has stained glass. It was originally constructed as a Mission Room as a result of a legacy from Samuel Charlesworth, Rector of Limpsfield from 1857-70. It was consecrated as a church in 1930. It underwent change in 1976 when part of the building was remodelled to provide living accommodation for the priest caring for this remote part of the parish

Built:1898
Architect: W H Harrison

The coordinates given are for the church.
The micro (a green screw top container holding a log book and pencil) can be found at short distance away at N51 BD.B(C+B)H, E 000 AB.A(E+F)H
Where ABCCD EFDGHF is the phone number on the Church Information board.

GPS can be very erratic here and take a while to settle, have patience and the co-ords will lead you to the cache.
Parking is available to the right hand side of the Church in the Staffhurst Wood car park.

If any body would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
