Geocache Description:

Reading Rainbow

Before attempting this cache you will need to do some homework. The answer to the homework assignment will help you find the cords to the final stage and the cache. You need to get the answers to the following questions:

A. According to the American Library Association, the novel "The Catcher in the Rye" by JD Salinger is one of the 100 most frequently challenged books of 1990-2000. At what number does this book appear on the list?

B. In what year did Octavia Butler win her first Hugo Award?

C. In what novel did Army bombardier Yossarian first appear?

D. How many letters are in the first name of Scout Finch's father?

Now that you have completed your homework, you can now go caching and proceed to Stage 1.

At Stage 1 you will find one of my favorite sculptures, commissioned in 1994 to commemorate the awarding of $10 million in scholarships to college-bound Chick-fil-A employees.

Coordinates for Stage 2 are N 33° 45.ABC, W 084° 23.XYZ. Subtract the number of tomes in the arch at Stage 1 from 483 for your ABC coordinates. Add the number of tomes to 264 for your XZY coordinates.

These coordinates bring you to the place you need to be. Add the numbers from A thru D, along with the number of tomes you found at Stage 1, and then subtract 1256.49. This is the location of the final stage.

This cache is inside a downtown establishment with permission.

The hours of operation:

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
10-8 10-8 10-8 10-8 10-6 10-6 2-6

Please be sure to use great stealth at this location! Parking is scarce downtown, but the cache is easily accessible on foot and from several MARTA stations. While you are there to seek out the cache, be sure to enjoy the many interesting and historical items at this location.

**Be advised that to enter the building your bags will be subject to search – if you have a multi-tool, pocketknife, or other such handy caching implement with you, they will likely not let you inside. This is a small cache, so BYOP.

(Please don't post any answers or spoilers in your log entry!)

***Congratulations to Maviman and Gingingman for FTF!!!***
