For a long time I've wondered how difficult it is to create a crossword puzzle like the ones that are published in newspapers. Now I know: It's not easy, even with a computer-searchable list of English words and abbreviations to help. But it was kind of fun making the puzzle; I hope you enjoy solving it. For those of you who do the New York Times crosswords, this is probably about as difficult as a Tuesday puzzle.
Use the Elk Head trailhead for this cache, at N 41 04.118 W 124 08.985; the area is open from sunrise to sunset. The cache is a few hundred feet off the main trail, and you might have to step over some small logs, but no bushwhacking is required.
The cache was originally an ammo can, but that disappeared and I replaced it by a 4.7 cup (1.1 liter) SnapWare container on 4/27/2013. On 7/16/2018 I replaced that by a preform tube.
Reception may be poor near the cache, so once you get close you should look for the X formed by 2 logs, as shown in this picture.
