Sandbach services is a motorway service station, between junctions 16 and 17 of the M6 motorway in England. The nearest town is Sandbach, nearby is Jodrell Bank Observatory and several radio telescopes. It has been operated by RoadChef ever since it opened in 1976 however in a recent report by the AA Trust on UK motorway service stations, the supreme quality of its food selection gave it bottom place. Inspectors comments were: You could stop for petrol and perhaps buy some provisions, but we wouldn't recommend taking a break there! National Express use it for the drivers' forty-five minute breaks and it was recently named as the dirtiest motorway service station in Europe. The arrests of two men in connection with the failed Glasgow bombing were conducted in the vacinity of Sandbach Services, this is due to it being a relatively isolated services, as opposed to the next set of services at Stoke that are located on the junction with the A500, they are also the last services on the M6 in Cheshire, and therefore the final place for the Cheshire Constabulary to act.
