Home to one of Virginia’s
oldest geocaches
Inspired by Flyingmoose’s January
2006 CITO at Scott’s Run where we had a wonderful time early
one January morning with family and friends eating donuts, drinking
coffee and hiking some trails while doing a little CITO on a clear
crisp winter morning.
What: An early
morning meet and greet-9 to 10:00 a.m. at
Burke Lake Park
http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/burkelake/burketrails.htm
Since the train is closed,
there are no park fees for out of jurisdication residents. So come
one and all and join your fellow Geocachers for some early chatter,
coffee, and donuts.
An informal meet & greet to
get to know your local Geocachers; followed by a walk around
the lake--4.7 miles-–on the stroller friendly trail—this part is
optional, but feel free to bring a Pengie123 CITO bag and join in,
or just attend the event and then be on your way.
The Event: -– coffee and
donuts at Burke Lake to talk about Geocaching, get hints to
geocaches that stump you; meet the faces behind the logs you’ve
been reading, discuss Geocaching hide strategies, and in general to
get together to socialize with like minded folks.
Since this is a Geocaching event,
travel bugs and Geocoins of all sorts are indeed welcome.
