Anyone who has been in Cambridge for longer than a day will
probably have walked along the river Cam through the meadows to
Grantchester stopping at one of the four pubs or The Orchard tea
rooms.
This cache aims to extend that walk for an extra five minutes!
Just beyond The Orchard is a lovely little pond with picturesque
views over the back of the Old Vicarage (now inhabited by a certain
author and ex-MP). There is parking in a layby nearby, or if you
fancy a short five minute walk, you can park in one of the pub car
parks or at The Orchard. While you are there, it is also well worth
trying the other two caches in Grantchester: Byron's Pool and
Enigma: Mission 3 - Turing's Old School.
The cache you are searching for is a small 450 ml plastic
container. It initially contained a logbook, TB, magnet, bottle
stopper, bouncy ball, champagne bubbles and a couple of pin
badges.
Happy hunting and please post any pictures!
PLEASE NOTE: we have now moved away from the area and cache
maintenance is going to be difficult. Please take good care of the
cache as when it falls into disrepair, we will probably (and
unfortunately) have to archive it.
