Geocache Description:

Simple cache set in the woods near Tawney Common. Part of a series of five including a bonus.

Walk in the Woods #2 – Harris

This is one of four Walk in the Woods caches set near Colliers Hatch / Tawney Common that will lead you to a final bonus cache ( GC185WZ).

Each cache will give you two grid references. WW1A would be the ‘A’ reference from the first Walk in the Woods cache, WW1B would be the ‘B’ reference from the same Walk in the Woods cache. To claim the bonus cache you need to have visited the other nearby Walk in the Woods caches collecting grid references from each. You then need to use those coordinates to work out where the cache is by following the instructions on the bonus cache page.

The entire walk including this one and the bonus is around 2.5 miles, generally on well established tracks or paths. Bringing wellies or stout walking boots if it has been wet might be an idea. The initial part of the track is muddy / rutted but improves dramatically after about 100m.

You can find a suggested route around the series (excluding the bonus) in Google Earth or Google Maps format by clicking through the appropriate link.

Check before you go

If you use paperless caching, you should check that your device correctly reproduces the grid on the bonus page before heading into the field otherwise you might have a frustrating time.

The Cache

You are looking for a small / medium clip lock style plastic box.  The cache is named for a magnificent female Harris hawk that was being exercised in the area whilst I was setting this series.

*** Cover properly once you're done please ***
