Geocache Description:

This is the sixth cache in a series based around old stations. Most of the actual station buildings are now in private ownership and access to them is limited, however most can still be seen from roads and public footpaths.

The cache is situated near Withyham Station which stood on the old branch line which ran between East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells West.

Withyham Station was opened on 1st October 1866 by the London Brighton & South Coast Railway and closed on 2nd January 1967.

The station and platform still remain and the station is now used as a private residence. A hedge now runs along the edge of the old platform shielding the old station from the public footpath.

The old line now forms part of Forest Way which is very popular with dog walkers and cyclists.

The picture above was taken near the coordinates of the cache looking east. When you arrive at the above coordinates look up at the old station and you will see a sign:-

The total number of letters on the sign =AB

The cache can be found at:-

N51 06.B(B+2)(A+4) E0 07.(A+B+2)(B-3)B

The cache itself is a small clip top box which contains the usual trades and certificates for 1st 2nd and 3rd to find. The bonus cache for this series has now been archived so no need to collect the bonus numbers.
