From the coordinates, proceed south, beneath the palm tree. Use the
magic portal to advance through two glass walls. Continue 45 paces.
Ride Silver Train #1 to the end of the line. Dismount. Proceed
north 16 paces. Transfer to Silver Train #2. Ride it, too, to the
end of the line. Dismount. Proceed north past the Vertical Magic
Tube Transport Device. Bear left, then right. Locate The Secret
Door With The Magic Silver Bar. Press The Magic Bar and enter.
You're inside.
Descend into the beast. The magic number is 51. You’re in
the belly of the beast now. Look for its enormous red tongue. Look
for the cache.... is is before you. Caress it.
The cache the same color as the dragon's tongue. It is well
camouflaged but it is there with room for a log book, golf pencil,
and tiny trinkets.
The Buckhead Cache was inspired by the Pre-Industrial Escalator
Cache of the famous
Yrium. Dozens of San Diego cachers enjoyed the exploits and
adventures of he and his wonder dog Gromit on cache hunts. Check
out his August 18, 2001, log of the
San Diego Ocean View cache to get a sense of the
never-to-be-forgotten Yrium, one of San Diego’s most beloved
cachers.
One of our local geocaching legends, gentle giant and master
raconteur Yrium, passed away in early July 2004 after a lengthy
battle with cancer. Known throughout the region for his wit and
hilarious cache logs, Yrium was a “Pal” to everyone he
met through caching in person or online. On behalf of the San Diego
Geocaching community, I dedicate The Buckhead Dragon to Yrium.
To exit the beast, descend and exit. Alarm will NOT sound.
BEWARE THE DRAGON GUARDIANS: Dragon Guardians abound outside,
booting unauthorized transport vehicles to the tune of $50. Stay
legal. Stay alive.
I’m a trainer and speaker from San Diego.
(www.byreferralonly.com) I am at a seminar/workshop in Buckhead
from Aug 19-26, 2001. I’ve stashed 10 caches in the San Diego
area, mostly on coastal mountain tops and ridges.
The best to you from San Diego.
