Geocache Description:

About 100+' from parking to monument on uneven rural prairie terrain. Alway be on the look out for those who dwell on the ground.

California Dreamin' is not from the popular 'Mama and Papa's' classic from my growin' up days. But is a reminder of the dreams of a new life in California by those who traveled along the Oregon Trail.

This monument, erected in 1912, is placed close to spot where the early westward pilgrims left the South Platte River area and headed northward towards the North Platte River Route which eventually wound up in Northern California. More info can be found here, www.nebraskahistory.org .

The monument itself seems to have it's own bit of historical value as itself has been in place for almost 100 yrs.

You are looking for a small container. Parking is ample to the west of the marker. Hide as good or better..and have fun.
