[CZ] Na jižním okraji Vlašimi, nad fabrikou v polích mezi cestami na Kondrac a na Cechtice, se zdvihá kopecek, kterému se ríká Na spravedlnosti. Od stredoveku zde stálo mestské popravište, kde mnoho hríšníku potkalo svuj osud. Vlašimští kronikári vyprávejí, že:
Právo soudní vykonával rychtár, první tehdáž osoba v meste, s prísežnými konšely. Soudili nejen menší prestupky, nýbrž i težší hrdelní, které staly se v obvodu mestském, a mohli i k smrti odsouditi. Odvolati se mohli k vyššímu soudu v Kourimi. Poprava dela se na Spravedlnosti, návrší u silnice za mestem k Cechticum.
Roku 1401. byl zde obešen jakýsi Chocovec, jenž se dvema zlosyny úkladne zavraždil v noci jednoho panoše u Ježova v jeho vlastním dome.
Tresty byly prísné: kradl-li nekdo, byl obycejne trestán šibenicí; zabil-li nekoho, šibenicí nebo mecem; ženská, když díte zabila, byla za živa zahrabána a kolem probita, a pod.

Pakli kdo právu bránil, nebo je hanel, mel hrdlo ztratit. Kdož by Pánu Bohu lál, nebo se rouhal, tomu byl jazyk vyrezán. Kdo na soude krive prísahal, tomu byl jazyk týlem vyvlecen. Když zapálil muž, byl na hranici upálen. Žena však byla zaživa zahrabána.

Právo soudní mela Vlašim jako sousední Domašín do roku 1765.
Poslední odsouzenci byli zde r. 1733. Jakub Pelikán pro krádež, r. 1736. Dorota Nevejpravkova, že „zahubila svuj nerádne nabytý plod; byla stata, srdce kulem probito a telo zahrabáno; svudník její Jirí Kazimour potrestán dílem obecním nebo panským dvounedelním v poutech a železích“; r. 1742. Fr. Burjánek pro vraždu jsa k smrti mecem odsouzen, sám se u vezení obesil a telo jeho pod šibenicí zahrabáno jest, kamž vubec samovrazi pochováni bývali; poslední odpravena byla dne 1. srpna 1749. Mandelina Grünbova, která byla prý „dcera mlynárova, velmi hezká a svedena díte zavraždila.“ Byla stata a kulem probita.

Tolik vlašimští ucenci. Místní povesti však praví, že krásná Mandelína, dcera mlynárova, pred svou strašlivou smrtí stihla kdesi na popravišti ukrýt poklad. V nem mela uložit dukazy o své nevine. Mnoho lidí se také domnívalo, že poklad skrýval cenné šperky, které jí venoval její svudce. Toho spravedlnost nikdy nedostihla. Poté, co se na kopecku prestalo popravovat, mnoho dobrodruhu se jalo Mandelínin poklad hledat. Nikdo nic nenašel, ale vršek zustal pokryt výkopy. Povesti také praví, že duše slicné Mandelíny Grünbové nikdy nenašla odpocinku, toulá se po vlašimských kopcích a straší pocestné. Dríve se jí lidé báli a popravišti se po soumraku vyhýbali. Dnes jsou vlašimští otrlejší a její srdcervoucí plác pricítají na vrub meluzíne.

[EN] On the southern edge of the town of Vlasim there is a hill rising above, a hill called The Justice Hill. Since the Middle Ages it was the place of the municipal gallows, where many sinners would meet their fate. Local historians narrate:
At that time justice was in the hands of the reeve, the first authority in town, along with his aldermen. They had the right to judge not just minor offences but the grave, capital ones, as well, that would occur in the town district. They were also entitled to sentence to death. The executions would be held on the Justice Hill.
In the year of 1401 a man called Chocovec was hanged there for murdering a squire from the town of Jezov in his own house. The punishments were severe: if a man stole, he would usually be hanged. If he murdered somebody, he would be hanged or beheaded. If a woman killed her child, she would be buried alive and stabbed. If someone opposed to the law he would be decapitated. Who blasphemed God, his tongue would be cut out. Who swore false in front of the jury, his tongue would be taken out through the back of his neck. If a man set fire, he would be burned at the stake. A woman though would be buried alive.
The town of Vlasim had the right to execute until the year of 1765. Among the last executed were Jakub Pelikan in 1733, for stealing. Dorota Nevejpravkova in 1736 for deadening her badly earned foetus. She was beheaded, her heart was stabbed and her body buried under the gallows. Her seducer, Jiri Kazimour was punished with municipal and feudal labour in irons. In the year of 1742 Frantisek Burjanek was convicted to death by sword for a murder, nevertheless he hanged himself in prison. His body was buried under the gallows, as it was usual with all suicides. The last to be executed, on the 1st of august of 1749, was Mandelina Grunbova, the miller’s daughter, very beautiful and seduced, she murdered her child. She was beheaded and stabbed.
That’s what historians have to say. Local legends, though, tell us that before her awful death, beautiful Mandelina would hide a treasure somewhere near the gallows. Inside she would lay proofs of her inocence. Many people also thought her treasure would hide precious jewels given to her by her seducer, who was never found by justice. After the executions were stopped many adventurers set to look for Mandelina’s treasure. Nobody ever found nothing, only the hill was left full of excavation pits. The legends also tell that the spirit of fair Mandelina Grunbova never found her rest, she wanders around Vlasim hills and haunts travellers. In the past people were afraid of her and after dusk they would avoid the Justice Hill. Today Vlasimmers are thick-skinned and they impute her heart breaking cries to the wind.
