Geocache Description:

In the Silvermine section of the Cape Peninsula National Park, with a spectacular view over Hout Bay of the Sentinel. A pleasant morning or afternoon's hike, but check the mountain cloud cover if you wish to appreciate the view.

The cache is located in the Silvermine section of the Cape Peninsula National Park. From the Silvermine parking lot it is about 40 minutes along tracks and footpaths to within 50m of the cache. The cache is located on a shoulder overlooking Hout bay and the Sentinel. On a fine day it is a magnificent site. On the day the cache was stashed, the area was covered in cloud, with visibility about ten metres. The cache is under a triangular boulder about 1m by 1m in size, with a few smaller rocks packed against it to keep out foraging baboons and porcupines. [Update 16/7/2001] redid the terrain/difficulty ratings using the Geocaching Cache Rating System (http://www.cordianet.com/snd/GCRS.zip) made by Scott Thomason.
