Geocache Description:

This is the headwater of Succor Creek. It is at the crest of the Owyhees just north of De Lamar mine. The altitude is about 7000'. You can drive to within .25 miles of it if you have a 4x4 and can find the roads (?) in. Otherwise, it is a beautiful area that is an 8.2 mile hike from the main road to Silver City. It would not be an extrememly difficult hike and the rise in elevation is about 1200' between the road and the highest point of the trail.

The cache is a blue thermos-type container that is covererd with loose shale beside a black rock in the middle of a field of loose, smallish pieces of shale. Only the end is visible and it is visible only to the north, but it is white and stands out clearly from the surroundings. The UTM location is written on top. I am enclosing photos of the stash, the rock from a distance and the view from the location. It is a very beautiful and secluded area in the heart of the old Silver City mining district.
