The first time we ventured into this semi-industrial area under
the M40, we were knocked back by the sheer scale of the pillars
holding the road up, and how small everything else looked in
comparison.
So we thought we'd set a cache here, so you could be too.
But because concrete and Tarmac aren't the most fun locations
for cache-hunting we found somewhere a bit different for the final
location.
The co-ordinates take you to a spot where the view of the
pillars is at its most imposing. If reception is a bit dodgy it's
no problem, because you don't need to be inch-perfect at this
point. Instead, now you need to find four traffic signs with speed,
weight and height restrictions that are by the road near to where
you're standing - at least one is facing away from you and can't
immediately be seen.
- Speed restriction = A
- Max weight = BAcwt
- Max height (metric) = C.Bm
- Max height (imperial) = D'E"
The final cache location is as follows: North 51°
36.B(C+D+A-E)A West 000° 41.(A+C)(B+D)(E-B-A)
Some tips:
- Please, when you look at the map and realise
the co-ordinates seem to be in the middle of the motorway, don't
try to climb onto the carriageway - you need to be
underneath, OK?
- Don't park in the office spaces, they don't like it. There are
others available!
- If you need to grope for the cache, be gentle - it's magnetic
and if you knock it off you'll have quite a job on your hands
retrieving it. You'll see what we mean.
- You'll need to bring a pen or pencil - the one initially with
the cache has gone for a Burton.
