Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the entrance to Lake Hartwell State Recreation Area. The terrain is relatively flat. It could be accessed by a person in a wheelchair, BUT note that it is off the paved area and the terrain includes some small gravel/rocks, so that may inhibit a wheelchair. This should be a fast stop and grab, and good for kids of all ages.

PERMISSION has been granted to The Scout Master for this geocache by the park manager.

This is for anyone traveling I-85 and passing Exit 1 where Hwy 11 ends just before(or after) the Georgia state line. It is a very short distance (less than a mile) down Hwy 11 from I-85.

I placed this cache OUTSIDE the park gates, as the park hours are 7:00AM-6:00PM Saturday - Thursday, and 7:00AM-8:00PM on Fridays. If the park is closed, you can still access it. Do NOT park on the grass or off the pavement!!

If the park is open, you can park at the visitor center, But REMEMBER: THERE IS A $2.00 PER PERSON FEE TO GO ANY FURTHER IN OR TO GO THROUGH THE PARK. Of course, any donation to a state park is a good idea to help keep them operating in my book. Camping is also available at this park. Again:This cache has been approved by the park manager.

You are looking for a camouflaged medium-sized pill bottle hidden from casual view. It is large enough for small items, even geocoins or small travel bugs, but that may be a tight fit. Try to be stealthy if you see anyone.

BYOP (Bring Your Own Pen), as there is not one in the container.

*******NOTE!!! THE PARK RANGER HAS ASKED THAT CACHERS PLEASE *NOT* PARK IN THE GRASS FOR THE CACHE - Some have done so and inadvertantly spun wheels when leaving, especially on wet days. Please PARK ON THE PAVEMENT **BUT DO NOT BLOCK THE ENTRANCE WHEN IT'S OPEN!!** You should have ample parking, and should be able to park in the station's parking lot without incurring a fee if there just for the cache. THANK YOU!*******
