This cache was inspired by Team SP. The original is in Wiltshire
and we enjoyed doing it so much we thought you’d appreciate it too.
They kindly agreed to my stealing their idea, modifying slightly
and presenting for your enjoyment.
The listed co-ordinates are for nearby parking. There seems to be a
lack of parking in the area, however, the cache can be found within
800 metres of the posted co-ordinates. As the 60’s cache proved
popular here is the 2nd one for the 70's. The plan is to place the
cache in a location linked to music in some way, it may be a very
loose link!.
To find the cache you will first need to solve the anagrams listed
below.
There are 10 anagrams of song titles that achieved success in the
seventies. Once you have deciphered the name of the song, find out
what its highest chart position in the British singles charts was
and transfer that number to the blank co-ordinates as illustrated
by the example below. If the highest position achieved was 10, then
drop the 1 and use the zero.
N52º AB. CDE
W00 FG. (H-D)(E+H-C)(I+J)
Example
B = 'a shocker julio' which when re-arranged becomes 'Jailhouse
Rock'
Highest chart position = 1 so B=1
A = A HALFTIME PREY HMM OWLS
B = A BRIBED HOTEL ONLY
C = DRAMA AUNT HOLLY
D = A MONARCH SOUND
E = A TARTAR HIGHLIGHT GRILL
F = LAIR VIA PIG INN
G = FANGS WINS LOTUS
H = GRANDPA ORBIT TOY
I = HAIRY HE JEST WINK
J = A HARDHAT AHOY OOH I OIL OILY ROSY
Younger cachers will probably need to find an “older” person to
help them
In the tradition of every great pub quiz the cache setters answers
are final, so no quibbling!
So, once you’ve cracked all the anagrams; researched their highest
chart position IN THE SEVENTIES and transposed that number into the
final cache co-ordinates, you will be looking for a lock-lock
container, hidden in a camo bag. Easy.
Please note that the area is overlooked, there is also a mugglet
playpark so an element of stealth is required.If you read the hint
you should be able to do a quick dash.
