Geocache Description:

Given coordinates are for roadside parking where there is space for a couple of cars.

Ashley Hill Forest is an area of woodland managed by the Forestry Commission. This cache will take you on a circular route through a small part of the forest with a walk of a little over a mile and taking 20-30 minutes. Whilst there is no stiles to negotiate the going is quite hilly, and at the time of placing was muddy in places with some fallen trees across the paths. Buggies had better be the 4x4 variety with some strong arms behind them!

The cache is placed on a public footpath just outside the forest.

WP1 - from recommended parking, head west to N51 31.547 W0 48.860. How many path sign pointers are there here? = A.

WP2 - continue west down the Knowl Hill Bridleway Circuit path to N51 31.476 W0 48.983. Note numbers on the post = BC-DE.

WP3 - Continue up path heading south to N51 31.385 W0 48.805. How many letters in the house name? = F.

(For geeky types there is a trigpoint near here, but it's within the garden of the house.)

WP4 - Continue up the track a short way and swing a left back into the forest to N51 31.597 W0 48.689. Note numbers on the post "DP" = GHI.

WP5 - head a short way up the road until you see the footpath sign on your left to N51 31.691 W0 48.702. How many metres in a roll? = JK.

Now for the hard bit... final can be found at:

N51 (A-3)C.(K+6)(G-1)D W0 (B+4)(F+1).(H+5)(I+2)J.

Cache is a small snap-lock container containing log, pencil and a few swaps. Now continue down the path to discover the real prize for this cache ;-)
