and location will never change.
Mid-Winter GeoCaching Get-Together 2008 Event will
follow the same theme as last years event in 2007 (
Mid-Winter Geocaching Get-Together 2007). A Chance to get
together with Geocaching friends (and maybe make some new ones)
while talking about Geocaching in Northern New York and the rest of
the state. A Lunch-Plus Geocaching event. We will have lunch at the
Adirondack Hotel in Long Lake. You are not required to eat at the
hotel. There are other options in town. I will be posting the lunch
menu in the near future, but, as it stand now, it looks like there
will be a large buffet.

There is parking on both sides of the hotel, and on both sides of
the road. If all of that parking is full, then, you can park in
front of the beach (on both sides of the road) as well. Feel free
to come up the night before or early in the morning of the event
and cache the morning of the event. Also feel free to stay through
to sunday and cache the entire area. I will be flooding the area
with caches. However, I will not be enabling the caches until just
before the event, to keep the thief from ruining the event.
February can be a month of much snow. If you have snowshoes or
cross-country skies - do bring them (Not needed - but will help).
If you have extra snowshoes and/or crosscountry skis, please bring
them for others to share. Did I tell you the event was in the ADKs
in mid-winter? :) This event description is an interim description
and will most likely change over time. I am writing this quickly
now, so I might get it posted as soon as possible to give more
people time to schedule it in. I have provided a list of hotels
below for your choosing. Please read their websites and call them
to assure they have all the ammenities you need.
NOTE: The Adirondack Hotel is a Rustic Hotel. The rooms do
not have the standard ammenities. There are no phones, tvs, or
internet hookups in the rooms. If you are in need of these
ammenities, please book your rooms at any of the other hotels i
have listed below.
