This is a micro cache located in Pennsylvania, however, you can't get here from Pennsylvania. This area of Pennsylvania is totally isolated from the rest of the state. To get to the only road that goes into this area you must drive into New York State first.

This cache is located very near the Pond Eddy Bridge in Shohola Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania. However, you can't access the cache unless you drive into New York State.
I usually don't like hiding micros, but since Stellar Jr. just placed another cache nearby, this one is a bonus. The real purpose is to show you this historical bridge and it should be a quick and easy find . Parking might be a problem here, suggest you park parallel to the narrow road directly opposite the bridge. (You'll see when you get there). Another parking option is to park on the New York side - there is a gravel pull-off on Route 97 across from the bridge - then you'll have to walk across the bridge.
The cache is located near the Pond Eddy Bridge, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. The bridge was built in 1904 by the Oswego Bridge Company and is 513 feet long. It is one of two surviving pin-connected through-truss bridge structures remaining on the upper part of the Delaware River. Over the last few years, there has been a lot of discussion over this bridge whether it should be repaired or destroyed and a new bridge built. A citizens group formed to try and save the bridge, while PennDot wants to build a brand new bridge. This bridge was originally built with a load limit of 18 tons, and recently was rated down to 4 tons. I'm guessing some repairs were done as the bridge is currently rated at 7 tons load limit. It has been reduced to one lane for safety reasons. The bridge has less than 80 vehicles crossing it daily.
Cache container was originally a small plastic container, slightly smaller than a 35mm film can, BUT IT HAS NOW BEEN REPLACED WITH ANOTHER TYPE OF CONTAINER. Cache is NOT on the bridge, but near the bridge. It should be accessible in winter, as long as there is not over a foot of snow.
