Geocache Description:

Our Huntsville Botanical Garden Scarecrow, "Finding the Cache", was such a big success that we decided to place a cache that is available year around. "Something Growing On" is located near the picnic tables adjacent to the parking lot. An entrance fee is not necessary to access the cache. Please park in a parking spot and take care while stepping into the landscaping to retrieve the cache.

Hours of the garden vary throughout the year. May-September M-S: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday: 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday: 12-6 p.m. October-April M-S: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday: 12-5 p.m. The Garden is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

The outside gates usually open at 7:30am and so the cache is available then but the gardens will not open until stated time. Please do not hunt for cache during the evenings of the Galaxy of Lights. Traffic is very heavy. Daytime hunting only!

The Huntsville Botanical Garden is a 112 acres botanical garden located at 4747 Bob Wallace Avenue, Huntsville, Alabama, near the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. It is open year-round, tickets available in the gift shop.

The garden has a wonderful Children's Garden beside the Butterfly House and Nature Center. The Children's area is a delighful place to bring your children. It includes several mazes, wishing well, playground and several water features so careful where you step.

They have a great schedule of events, a gift shop and a small deli for lunch, plant sales, lectures and more. Please visit their website for more information. www.hsvbg.org
