The cache is accessible from the many public footpaths and the recently opened bridleway, and is within easy walking distance of Great Northern Trail 2, and Great Northern Trail, reservoir view.
The Hewenden Viaduct is close by, and was built around 1880 to carry the Queensbury to Haworth railway line. At around 312 metres long and with 16 tall arches, it was finally closed in 1965 and has become Grade II listed.
The Great Northern Trail is currently being developed by Sustran and will eventually provide a walking/cycleway from Cullingworth to Queensbury, about 10 miles on tarmac. The Trail is very popular with horse riders as well as cyclists and walkers, so stealth may be required. Please replace the cache carefully and ensure that it is not visible. Thank you.
