How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

This is a Geo-Post Office!

It is used to swap letters and postcards between geocachers!

Here is how it works: Caches are placed to hold postcards. Each postcard will have a short message and a forwarding address on it. The address will contain the person's name that you are trying to send the postcard to, their home city, and a destination cache. The idea is to move postcards between Geo-Post Offices until they reach
their destination. When you move a postcard or message from one place to another, let the person who it's being sent to know where you moved it to, because they might be near enough to go and pick it up. If you move a postcard from one Geo-Post Office to another, please move it closer to the city or cache!

You can use the picture at the bottom as a guide for the format to use when writing up a postcard address. You can send any message you want to anyone you want!

How do you get started? Easy! Just write up your postcard and drop it in the Geo-Post Office! If there are any postcards in the cache when you arrive, feel free to forward them on if you can. If not, don't worry, just leave them for the next cacher.

The cache is a small ammo box. There is no swag in the cache, it is for postcards and trackables only. Please don't feel that you have to run out and spend your hard-earned cash on a postcard at the store. You can print and laminate a huge variety of postcards off the Internet. We are starting with some extra cards in the cache. If you wish, add a post card for someone who may be in need.

We were introduced to the GPO's through a cache in Cornwall, Ontario: Cornwall Geo-Post Office and TB Hostel GC10RYW

A "Thank you" goes to Zonker&co for the kind offer of us copying what was written on their Geo-Post Office. A list of all GPO's can be found on their cache page.

Enjoy!

The cache is also a Travel Bug Hotel. It's accommodations will not allow large travel bugs. Please keep all
travel bugs and geocoins moving.

The cache is opening with the Canadian Mailbox Travel Bug and SharpShin's Cachehunters42 GeoCoin.

**WEATHER ALERT**

Flooding and Snow conditions

Those conditions may make this cache more difficult. The stream bed can quickly fill up with water and snow can make the bridge slippery. Caution should be used on the bridge as the boards are spaced a few inches apart.

Due to these possible conditions we have increased the difficulty for the winter months.
