St Michael
The 11th in this series is St Michael at Mickleham
There was a Church erected on this site over a thousand years ago, parts of which are incorporated in the present structure. The original Church was a small Saxon one of nave and chancel only. It is mentioned in the Domesday Book (1080 -1086) which states: "There is a Church and two acres of meadow". Yet the Church as we have it today dates for a large part from the Norman period, somewhere about 1180
A straight forward micro which, surprisingly enough has a magnet on it. It’s placed by a public footpath so keep an eye out for passing muggles.
The cache has a log book only plus micro certificates and hand made micro churches but no pen so please bring one with you.
If any body would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let me know first so I can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
