Believe it or not this spot was once valued for its quietness. In
1899 with the proposal for harbour bridge gaining momentum and
increased traffiic around the existing observatory
it was decided to move a space telescope to this location.
Observations continued at this location until 1930, when with
the depression and the retirement of key personnel it was decided
to return the telescope to the main observatory.
The area has two mown areas and a bush regeneration section in
the middle. There is a path through the bush regeneration, so stick
to the path depending on which direction you seek the cache.
