Geocache Description:

This is a hike of just over a mile from where the trail begins.

Counting ETD: Coyote Springs (GC16QXD), this is the last of five caches, so far, on the Coyote Springs drainage. This is for the serious cacher who isn't terribly concerned about the 'numbers' in a short period of time. Allow yourself at least three hours if you take your camera and take as many pictures as I did. I could have spent even longer, but took a tumble near the beginning of the hike and my knee and foot were bothering me enough to call it quits after about 2 1/2 hours. I did find some bear scat along the trail, but it was several days old and I doubt that you will encounter anything other than deer or coyotes; or, perhaps the small owl that allowed me to take numerous pictures of. Don't forget some drinking water (I did!)and maybe a snack. You should love this area! The coordinates will get you close enough to know where to look for this one. You'll understand why the coordinates couldn't be spot on when you get there. NOTE: The Gooding City of Rocks is a Wilderness Study Area. As such, it is requested if you find evidence that there is beginning to be too much traffic to any of the caches located there, i.e., human trails being formed, you contact the owner of the cache so it can either be moved to a new location or archived. Natural game trails and cattle trails are not to be considered as human impact trails. No off-roading with motorcycles, ATVs or other motorized vehicles. Practice CITO while hiking in this area so it can be enjoyed by all who come to this unique place. NOTE: On 4-8-14 I made the hike down Coyote Springs to check on this string of caches that have yet to be found. Only one attempt has ever been logged. All the caches, with the exception of this one, are in good shape and where they should be. This one, however, was destroyed when a portion of the wall where it was hidden collapsed. To make sure anyone who goes after these caches comes back with smiley faces, I'm including a 'spoiler' pic(s) for each cache. The location of this cache has been changed and the coordinates have been changed to reflect the change.
