Geocaching Awards Gathering, Otago (Otago) Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Curglaff: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

1pm. A chance to meet some fellow cachers, swap stories and recognise sterling efforts!

The inaugural (and maybe only - let's see how it goes!) GAGO (Geocaching Awards Gathering, Otago).

The main aim is to get together, put faces to names, and tell tall tales.

To help with this we'll run a bit of an event with awards in various categories. Any cache, cacher, or caching experience, in Otago is eligible for an award. We'll even make sure there are some prizes (if you'd like to offer something, e-mail us)!

The event will be at the Baptist Church in Roslyn (309 Highgate) starting at 1pm on Sunday December 16. (It's OK church will be finished by then - I'll preach quickly that morning!!) We'll have afternoon tea at some stage so if you could bring along some muffins etc. to share that would be great. We'll supply tea, coffee, fruit juice etc.

Here are the award categories:

Most Scenic Cache

Best Cache Log - Cache Found

Best Cache Log - Cache not Found

Most Innovative Cache

Easiest Cache

Most Challenging Cache

Most Irritating Puzzle

Cache that required multipple visits

Most Enjoyable Cache

Simply the Best

If you have a nomination for an award in one of these categories could you e-mail to us (nofs) rather than putting it in your log/response.

The church has a data projector so if you have a photo you think would add to the event, e-mail that to us too.

To have some ideas of numbers it would be good if you could respond by logging a note letting us know you are coming (or not).

Looking forward to meeting you all,

Nofs.

P.S. Oh yeh, bring the GPS. We'll arrange some sort of puzzle/hunt to keep the younger (maybe not as young as Eli jnr!) set entertained.
