Geocache Description:

This is the second cache in a series based around old stations. Most of the actual station buildings are now in private ownership and access to them is limited, however most can still be seen from roads and public footpaths.

The cache is situated near Rowfant Station on an old branch line which ran between Three Bridges and East Grinstead.

The station was opened on 9th July 1855 by the East Grinstead Railway Company and it closed on 2nd January 1967. The station building and Stationmaster’s house still remain though the station building is now unused.

The old track bed now forms part of the Worth Way which is very popular with dog walkers and cyclists so care should be taken when retrieving the cache.

To find the cache you will need to visit the old station and locate a notice board at the coordinates above.

On the notice board the year the Worth Way was officially opened ABCD

The cache can be found at:-

N51.06.D(C-A)C W0.06.A(C-2)(A+2)

The cache itself is a small clip top box which contains the usual trades and certificates for 1st 2nd and 3rd to find. The bonus cache for this series has now been archived so no need to collect the bonus numbers.
