Half Man Half Eejit: Well, what can you say about today's breed of supercilious cachers[V]?
I will be archiving this, all other similar caches and, in fact, every cache I 'own' over the course of the next couple of weeks. Frankly, I'm rather bored of reading condescending comments and simple, lazy logs...you know the ones - "T4TC" (and worse).
The fact remains that caches of this age were approved under an entirely different ruleset. I'm not adverse to the changes that have been introduced, far from it, but sometimes you just wonder why perfectly reasonable (I'll come back to that) and approved caches have to be archived at the whim of someone who simply didn't like the experience. I believe there is a term to describe how these 'elderly' caches are treated by the reviewers and wider community at large - "grandfathered".
The reason why my Wife and I chose to place caches at Avoncliff, Freshford and Melksham was because they are un-manned request stops. As a result, at the time of placing, we believed it would be extremely unlikely that any cachers would ever meet anyone from the rail company when searching for the discreet cache containers. Nothing has changed! Anyway, c'est la vie...!
As with all of our caches, thanks for all those that took the time to visit and say something nice...well actually just anything other 'T4TC' (or less).
Time for us to move on and free space up for others[:D].
