***Need to bring own pencil/pen****The few gravestones that are seen were salvaged back in 1961 and preserved in concrete. Parking is available at the back of Cedarwood Village.
This area has recently been established as a Historical Landmark and will be undergoing changes. The "Norfolk County House of Refuge" or Poorhouse was established in the mid 1800's as an "Industrial Farm". The original Poor House burned down in 1877 killing 17 "Inmates". It was rebuilt. Then in 1961 was replaced by Norview Lodge. The original cemetery boundaries are unknown at present and there has been plenty of work done to try and establish them. Therefore take care in the area and watch out for the flags marking the possible grave sites.
