Geocache Description:

The cache location is slightly SW below Oisternig mountain top at approx. 2030m. About one hour hike from Feistritzer Alm on marked mountain trail. Enjoy the excellent view from top.

The cache is a small tupperware box, initially containing a sheep, car, compass and carabin hook.
In summer it is possible to reach Feistritzer Alm (1710m) either from Italy or Austria, even directly by car from Feistritz (see way 3.). Most popular ways are:

1. From SW, from Valle di Ugovizza. From the parking place on 1210m you go either N towards Lom (saddle) and then E to Feistritzer Alm and the summit, or immediately E to Sella Pleccia and then N to Feistritzer Alm and the summit. 3h. This can be also done with skis.

2. From S, from Camporosso, 810m, near Tarvisio you follow the road and markings No. 508 towards N to the summit of M. Acomizza / Schoenwipfel, 1813m, and further towards N to Feistritzer Alm and the summit. 5h.

3. From NE, from Feistritz we follow all the time the forrest road and markings No. 481 to Feistritzer Alm, 4h, and the summit, 1h. Also this is a popular ski tour.

4. From N, from Vorderberg we follow the forrest road and markings No. 15 and 478 to Werbutzalm, above which you reach the NE ridge and by it (see #2) continue to the summit. 4-5h. Also a ski tour.

5. The other option from Vorderberg is the western road, which goes above Vorderberger Wildbach (creek) and by Dolinzabach (creek) to Lom (saddle) in the main Carnic Alps crest and then as described in #1 to the summit. 5h.

The cache itself should be accessible in winter, but be aware, that depending on snow conditions there is danger of avalanches!
During winter also the forest roads into the area are not maintained after heavy snowfall, so either try a 4wd car with snow chains on your own risk or walk with skis along the roads from the last maintained point(may take some hours more!).
