Geocache Description:

This 35mm film cannister should be a pretty easy find. It is not on the ground.

Hoxie and Walnut Ridge are twin cities divided by a city street and old die hard prejudices. The community is served by two of everything, two fire departments, two police departments, two water departments, etc. The obvious thing to do is to consolidate and get rid of all the duplication and the prejudices.

The Chamber of Commerce has placed signs at the entrance to these two towns welcoming visitors to both towns. The signs say "Welcome to Hoxie and Walnut Ridge" or "Welcome to Walnut Ridge and Hoxie". This cache is near one of those signs and also beside the future "Rails to Trails" walking path. The walking path will be a 6 mile walking path that will run through both towns and out to the industrial park/regional airport. It is anxiously awaited and there are hopes that the walking trail will help do what nothing has been able to do so far - unite the two towns.
