Geocache Description:

Lesní porost v místní cásti Bor, velmi snadno prístupný po lesní ceste pesky i na kole v nadmorské výšce 400 m.

Protivín vznikl nekdy kolem roku 1260 jako tvrz a vesnice na brodu pres rícku Blanice, v oblasti zlatonosných potoku a hor. Svoje jméno dostal Protivín po svém držiteli Protivovi. V listinách je zminován Protivín až od roku 1282. Roku 1711 se stal Protivín majetkem knížete ze Schwarzenbergu. Na konci námestí stojí zámek v renesancním stylu.
Manželka knížete ze Schwarzebergu mela oblíbeného kone Bayarda. Po jeho smrti jej knežna pohrbila v rohu obory a na tomto míste zbudovala i kamenný pomník. Bayard žil v letech 1862-1880.

ps: KDO BYL DITA NIKDO NEVÍ PRESNE, ZREJME ZDE NEJAKÝ CHOVATEL MNOHEM POZDEJI POHRBIL SVÉHO JINÉHO CTYRNOHÉHO MILÁCKA, TEDY SNAD... a nyní pribyl i boxer (pes), pomalu se zde tvorí nelegální zvírecí hrbitov.
The town of Protivin was established in 1260 as a fortress and a village near a ford across the river Blanice, in the region of the gold bearing brooks and mountains. Its name comes from the first owner’s name – Protiva. Protivin is mentioned in documents not sooner than 1282. In 1711 it became the property of the prince from Schwarzenberg. At the end of the square you can find a chateau in Renaissance style. Princess from Schwarzenberg had his favourite horse Bayard. After his deaths princess buried him in the corner of a game -park and raised a stone monument there. Bayard lived in years 1862 - 1880.
