This cache has been archived.

bikermel76: Well, I think you two did a better job of consuming the burger than I did - I was far too busy gossiping!!!

I hope the ride home wasn't too boring - or the dastardly shopping trip your Mum sent your Dad on [;)]

Thanks everyone, and so, ARCHIVE!

See you next time!

About the World Wide Flash Mob

Promo Vid here

This is a Flash Mob Event, part of the World Wide Flash Mob occurring simultaneously around the globe (see them all on Google Earth with this kml file). Events are currently planned in the USA, Canada, Iraq, South Africa, Sweden and Australia. There's also one in Hawaii (I'm off...) as well as another in Birmingham, well, the other Birmingham, in Alabama, USA!

Find other WWFMs here and read about the WWFM here.
Check out a previous Flash Mob Event here

The event will begin precisely at 17:00 GMT (as updated on your GPSr) and conclude precisely at 17:15 GMT.

Events which occur after 17:15 GMT will not count as part of this event!

You MUST be present and sign a log sheet DURING this time. Only Cachers with completed log sheets will be permitted to log an 'Attended' on this event. The Log Sheet Box will be sealed at 17:15 GMT EXACTLY! Logs not in the box when it is sealed will not count!

Please BYOP! (Bring your own pen)

About SideTracked in BRUM
We felt it wouldn't be safe to hold the event AT a Railway Station, so the event will take place in Victoria Square in central Birmingham. It's still pretty close (see map below:)

Distances to the Birmingham Stations:
Moor St 800 yards
New St 200 yards
Snow Hill 500 yards

To maintain the SideTracked theme, we would like everyone attending to dress as Train Spotters! There may even be a prize for Best Dressed!

About The Event
As is traditional for Events, some new Caches will be published in the area on the day. A new SideTracked Cache will be hidden for each of the 3 central stations in Birmingham.

Additionally there are already several Caches in, or very near, the '3 Station SideTracked Zone':
GCWF77 - Maiden In Distress
GCRYKF - Take Art
GCVNEV - Pointless Passage
GCJ84J - A bit of…
GC149QX - Box to Box…

A total of 14 exisiting Caches are within 1 mile of the event!

There will also be the opportunity to swap or spot geocoins and travel bugs. Please ensure your coin or bug is placed on the correct tray or it may get swapped by accident! If you intend to bring Coins/ TBs please check out the event web page for some very important information!

This event is probably going to be the most packed 15 minutes of Geocaching in your life! Other activities to squeeze in include swag swapping, a meal (a taste of Flash Mobbing American Style - Hershey Kisses!), drawing for FTF, STF etc and a Raffle, so you'd better be on the ball! We have some fantastic prizes to give away, including a Brand New Best of British 2007 "Britannia" Geocoin

Itinerary
16:45 Gather, mingle, be as a muggle!
17:00 Congregate, grab a Log Sheet, sign it & swap it for a 'Swag Bag'*
17:01 Swap swag, chat, brag, share coins and bugs!
17:05 Dinner

17:12 FTF, STF, TTF drawn from log sheets
17:14 Group Photo, prepare to leave (but don't look like you're preparing to leave!)
17:15 Everything is packed away, and we all scarper

* Your Swag Bag will contain your name badge, 'dinner' and the co-ords for the new Caches, plus some special 'Event Only' goodies!!! Each team will only get ONE logsheet and raffle entry, but you can claim one Swag Bag PER MEMBER, so please post the number of people who will be attending on your "Will Attend" log!

After 17:15
If people wish to meet after the event to visit local Caches and or discuss Caching, please state meeting places and times in your 'Will Attend' log. The organising committee will be meeting at The Lock (The Slug & Lettuce) in Brindleyplace (N52 28.687 W1 54.747) after the event (18:00)

If you're coming in from afar for the day, you may like to know that the Birmingham Christmas Light Switch-on is also set for 10th November at Millennium Point (approx a mile away). It's a 4.5 hour long free event and, if the New Years Eve parties are anything to go by, should be a good evening of live entertainment and fireworks! The event takes place from 3pm to 7:30pm, so you could pop in before AND after (if you're not coming to the pub!)
