GOLD
Gold consists only of a stable isotope and appertains in this way to the 22 pure elements. The heavy metal is in an unalloyed way tenderly as tin. It is not attacked from acids in general; an exception forms the acid mixture "aqua regia", a mixture of hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. That halogen chlorine, bromine and iodine are able to dissolve gold, latter even in alcoholic solution. In watery cyanide solutions gold is easily soluble under reception of oxygen as complex compound. In hot, acid hydrothermal solutions gold is relatively well physically soluble. Accordingly it is found often in quartz rocks with.
DISCOVERY CLAIM
The names Robert Henderson, Skookum Jim, Tagish Charlie and George Carmack are inextricably linked to the discovery of gold on Bonanza Creek.
Henderson was the first to systematically explore the gold bearing potential of the region, only to have the major find elude him.
Then on 17. August 1896 Jim struck gold, and with his companions Charlie and Carmack staked the first claims.
A few days later at Forty Mile, Carmack in his own name registered the Discovery Claim where this monument stands. Within days Bonanza and Eldorado Creeks hat been staked and when the news reached the outside the Klondike Gold Rush was on.
In order to be allowed to log this Earthcache:
1. Send a mail to the owner and answer following questions:
- A) Which melting point or boiling point gold (°K or °C or °F) has?
- B) How high are the old barren rocks on the claim?
- C) On the way for the claim an old gold dredge lies. Which number has it?
- D) In which year the commemorative table was constructed at the coordinates?
2. If you want, please upload a photo with you and the GPS in the hand in front of the barren rocks.

GOLD
Gold besteht aus nur einem stabilen Isotop und gehört damit zu den 22 Reinelementen. Das Schwermetall ist unlegiert weich wie Zinn. Es wird von Säuren im Allgemeinen nicht angegriffen; eine Ausnahme bildet das Säuregemisch "Königswasser", eine Mischung aus Salzsäure und Salpetersäure. Die Halogene Chlor, Brom und Iod vermögen Gold zu lösen, letzteres sogar in alkoholischer Lösung. In wässrigen Cyanidlösungen ist Gold leicht unter Aufnahme von Sauerstoff als Komplexverbindung löslich. In heißen, sauren hydrothermalen Lösungen ist Gold relativ gut physikalisch löslich. Demzufolge wird es oft in Quarzgesteinen mit vorgefunden.
DISCOVERY CLAIM
Die Namen Robert Henderson, Skookum Jim, Tagish Charlie und George Carmack sind unwiederruflich mit der Entdeckung des Goldes am Bonanza Creek verbunden.
Henderson war der erste, der planmäßig Gold in der Region suchte, aber die Hauptentdeckung machte ein anderer. Am 17. August 1896 fand Jim Gold, und markierte mit seinen Begleitern Charlie und Carmack die ersten Ansprüche.
Ein paar Tage später in Fourty Mile, meldete Carmack in seinem eigenen Namen Entdeckungs-Anspruch an, an dem Claim, wo heute dieses Denkmal steht.
Einige Tage später wurden Rechte an den Bächen Bonanza Creek und Eldorado Creek markiert. Als die Neuigkeiten herauskamen, war das der Beginn des Klondike Gold Rauschs.

1. Schicke eine Mail an den Owner und beantworte folgende Fragen:
- A) Welchen Schmelzpunkt oder Siedepunkt hat Gold (°K oder °C oder °F)?
- B) Wie hoch sind die alten Abraumhalden am Claim?
- C) Auf dem Weg zum Claim liegt eine alte Gold Dredge. Welche Nummer hat sie?
- D) In welchem Jahr wurde die Gedenktafel an den Koordinaten errichtet?
2. Wenn du willst lade ein Foto von dir mit dem GPS in der Hand und den Abraumhalden hoch.
