Hooley is a very small example of a Surrey village. It lies in a pass which is the lowest crossing point of the North Downs for several kilometres in either direction. Both the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway and the South Eastern Railway recognised this pass as the best route to Brighton and built rival railway lines through Hooley. Both lines go into tunnels just south of the village.
This cache could be said to be confusing, as it is located at Chipstead Parish Church, which is actually in Hooley. The Church Green is very picturesque and offers views over the surrounding countryside to Caen Hill Hospital.
The cache is a micro with a log book but no pencil, so please bring your own.
Please take care when retrieving and replacing the cache, as the roads tend to be quite busy.
