The Steelers Reunion Cache Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

alanfreed: I checked up on this one today after the recent DNF, and I was not able to find it anywhere near its intended hiding spot. Considering it has only been getting 1-2 visits per year lately, I figure it's time to put this one to rest :(

Many thanks to all who have found it!

Geocache Description:

A cache to celebrate the Steelers' 75th anniversary season. Also, according to our reviewer, this happened to be cache #700,000 in the geocaching.com database!

In celebration of the Steelers’ 75th Anniversary, several past and present members of the team recently gathered to reminisce about their days as members of the greatest franchise in the NFL.

The men had a great time joking with one another, and even took some time to pose for a group photo. Myron Bell took a seat just as Jerome Bettis came storming in to sit beside him. Gary Anderson took his position, and decided to call the next guest “Fu” instead of attempting to pronounce Chris “Fuamatu-Ma’afala.”

In front of them, Cedrick Wilson sat down, where the wide receiver enjoyed a chat with Terry Bradshaw. Jeff Reed, who was having a rare good hair day, sat down as the gruff-looking Kendall Simmons took his place.

The men smiled, or at least looked a little less menacing for a brief moment, as the photographer snapped the picture.

The men thought they’d test their physical prowess by attempting a Geocache together. They heard there was a cache near a marker that bears the namesake of a man who they once regarded as a genius, but they had recently learned that this may not have been the case.

The coordinates for that marker are at the top of the page, but this is not the location of the cache. If you have read this story carefully enough, you know where the cache is!

This cache should only be done during daylight hours.
