The West Midlands county no longer exists, except in a ceremonial
role, and as a postal region. The areas forming it have largely
been formed into unitary authorities.
Meriden, where this cache is located, is now part of the
Solihull local authority, but is better known as the generally
believed centre of England.
The West Midlands is generally thought of as a built-up area,
full of roads and concrete. Major roads pass close by this cache,
but need not (or even should not!), be used to access the cache.
Instead, find a road to nowhere, and park at the end, avoiding
blocking the turning point, then enjoy a short walk down a deserted
country lane.
The cache has now been replaced with a small traditional
container. Let's hope it survives the muggles.
