[Cache description comprehensively revised 21 November 2007
-- ‘cause if you hide an ammo box in the woods and nobody
finds it, is it really a cache?]
The image above is a coded message. It doesn’t decode to a
set of coordinates but rather to two complete English sentences,
not unlike a newspaper cryptoquip. The encoding/decoding procedure
has a couple of twists but is otherwise quite systematic –
once you “get it” you could probably leave us a coded
message in the cache log without referring to notes or a decoder
ring or anything.
The “code” is supposed to look like doodling or
graffiti or something, not like a message, but beyond that, we
didn’t purposely plant any red herrings. So let me share that
the colors are merely decorative – it’s the black line
drawing that you want to focus on.
If you’d like a cryptic hint that you likely won’t
understand until you’ve solved the puzzle, please contact Pat
Sajak. If you’d like to see a hint that is supposed to be
helpful (though your mileage may vary), please consult the
gallery.

Long pants/sleeves and bug spray are recommended in season.
