Last Dance Traditional Geocache

Cerkev Svete Trojice pri Hrastovljah je slikovita cerkvica, skrita za obzidjem, oboje pa je narejeno iz kamna. Najbolj znana je po freski, imenovani Mrtvaški ples iz leta 1490, ki se je dolgo skrivala za naknadno narejenimi plastmi ometa, kar jo je izredno dobro ohranilo skozi stoletja. Prikazuje pripadnike različnih družabnih slojev, ki jih spremlja Smrt, ki ne pozna šale in so pred njo vsi enaki.

Če je mogoče, priporočamo iskanje zakladka ob času, ko si lahko za 3€ ogledate tudi notranjost cerkvice ter freske: 9h-12h in 13h-17h.

Zakladek je skrit ob poti za cerkvijo, od koder je zelo lep razgled nad dolino pod kraškim robom. Lahko si tudi vzamete še nekaj ur in malo bolje raziščete okoliške poti, ki so zelo privlačne posebej spomladi in jeseni.

Holy Trinity Church in Hrastovlje which dates from the 15th century, is famous for its fresco "Dance with the Death", which points out the indispensable destiny of every human being, despite its social status. Here you can see people of all social classes at the time of painting, each one dancing with the Death, as well as being awaited by it at the end of their lives. Frescoes were revealed in 1949 by accident as they were covered with several layers of paint for centuries.

The church is open daily 9-12 and 13-17, 3€ entry fee.

The cache is located near the church. The location itself offers splendid views across the valley just underneath the edge of Kras plateau. You can spend a few hours walking about and perhaps climb up to the edge itself. Mountainbiking is also very popular in this area, especially in winter months with pleasant temperatures. Please note that the box is quite small so only small items will fit.
