Geocache Description:

Located at Corbiere - parking available in nearby car park

This cache is a 'quick cache and dash' and is located near Corbiere Lighthouse with outstanding views.
The Lighthouse is one of the most popular photographed areas on the Island.
It was designed by Sir John Coode and was Britains first reinforced concrete lighthouse. The build was completed in 1874.
The lighthouse had keepers that would work in pairs and would spend 48 hours out at Corbiere each man working six hour shifts.The lighthouse became automated in 1976.
The tower itself stands at 62 foot high and the lamp 119 foot above high water spring tides.This enables it to be seen from the horizon some 18 miles away.

A real magical place especially when the sun sets.
We can recommend the nearby restaurant for a lovely meal with a view.
