Krasna prochazka lesem,krajinou naucne stezky Vate pisky k pamatnemu stromu. Cast cesty lze pouzit i brusle, ale jen 2/3 trasy.
Ke kazdemu pamatnemu stromu se vaze nejaka ta povest. A i zde to neni jinak. Za davnych casu se k Hodoninu a dokonce az k Breclavi tahly hluboke dubove lesy. Ty byly bohate na divokou zver. A jako jinde i zde se pytlacilo, nebot lide byli chudi a na dane vrchnosti nezbyvalo. Jednim z chudych, kteremu se pozadavky vrchnosti nelibily, byl Zilka. Se svoji skupinou pobyval v lesich mezi Bzencem a Hodoninem. Tudy totiz vedla obchodni cesta a zde prepadal formanske vozy jedouci do Straznice, do Hodonina ci Skalice. Chudym lidem Zilka neublizil, nebot byl jednim z nich. Vyptal se, vyzvedel, prohledal a propustil. Ba co vic, mnohdy pry chudasovi nasypal do klobouku dukatu nebo jej obdaroval suknem. A snad uz proto chudi na nej neprozradili, kde se ukryva. Pani castokrat podnikli na Zilku opravdovy hon a vzdy neuspesne. Zilka vyborne totiz znal les a dostaval zvesti a vystrahy od chudasu a pytlaku, s nimiz honil zver. Vse vsak netrvalo vecne. Jednou pani ze Straznice vyhlasili na Zilku velkou odmenu tomu, kdo prozradi, kde se Zilka ukryva a pomuze jej lapit. Touha po dukatech prinutila jednoho z pytlaku, ktery Zilku dobre znal, aby jej zradil. V jednom podani povesti se pise, ze se Zilka schoval v korune stromu a bojoval s vojaky, myslivci a ostatnimi, co ho nahaneli, do poslední chvile. Mezi nimi byl i pytlak zradce a ten Zilkovu trestu rozhodne neunikl. Zilka jej odmenil po zasluze. Zilka mel pry carovny klobouk a do nej chytal vsechny strely. V krupobiti strel si Zilka pocinal velice bravurne. Jednomu z vojaku vsak pry dosla munice a tak udajne zuby uhryzl ze sveho kabatu oloveny knoflik. Nabil a v prihodny cas zalicil. Po jeho vystrelu padl Zilka k zemi mrtev. V jinem podani se vypravi, ze Zilka v krupobiti strel dostal nekolik smrtelnych zasahu a kdyz se z vetvi strelba neozyvala, vojaci vylezli na strom a nasli zde Zilku mrtveho. Pozdeji se zjistilo, ze Zilka schovaval svuj lup do stromu. Verni Zilkovi tyto informace pry nikdy neprozradili. Po Zilkovi je v Bzenci tez pojmenovana jedna z ulic. Zilkuv dub dodnes stoji v lese mezi Bzencem a Rohatcem a je jednim z orientacnich bodu v tomto lese. Je to pamatny strom statem chraneny. Jeho vek je jarku pres 300 let. Vysoky je 22 metru a koruna se rozklada do sirky az 34 metru. S prumerem priblizne 144 centimetru a obvodem kmene 4,8 metru patri bezpochyby k nejsilnejsim, nejmohutnejsim a nejkrasnejsim stromum v sirokem okoli. Zilkuv dub se nachazi v oblasti vatych pisku a v neposledni rade take nedaleko naucne stezky. Nize uvedeny text nepovazujte za multikes. Je to jen navod, jak se k Zilkovu dubu nejlepe dostat, nebot my jsme jej po dvaceti letech hledali dve hodiny ;-) Jako prvni bod na trase k Zilkovu dubu jsme zaznacili misto na techto souradnicich : N48.94222° E17.29138°, v jejichz blizkosti si muzete prohlednout Bechteluv pamatnik, ci odlovit nedalekou cache „Moravska Sahara“. Zde take muzete nechat sve auto a vydat se po naucne stezce, nebo pokracovat opatrne po ceste nevalne kvality vpravo na souradnice : N48.93734° E17.28692°, kde po prave strane uvidite male parkoviste a tam nechate svuj vuz. K tomuto mistu se dostanete, kdyz kolem pily projedete pres jednu kolej. Pote vam doporucujeme pokracovat pesky, na kole nebo bruslich. Po krasne uzke silnicce se pohybuji jak cyklisti, tak bruslari a auto bez povoleni tam nema co delat. Pokud pujdete po modre kolem detskeho tabora Littner, je tam cedule se zakazem vstupu do tabora, tak to prosim dodrzujte a drzte se cesty. Z duvodu masivni devastace okoli kese bezohlednými hledaci, jsme se snazili o maximalni oznaceni kese, tak aby to kazdeho trklo. Those forests were rich in wildlife. And as elsewhere people here were forced to poach because they were poor and what little the have mostly ended in pockets of the nobility as taxes. One of the poor unsatisfied with exactions of the nobility was Zilka. With his group he abided at forests between Bzenec and Hodonin. Through this forests went trade route and on this route Zilka and his companions attacked trade carts headed for Straznice, Hodonin or Skalice taking whatever valuable they carried. Poor were safe from Zilka as he was one of them. When poor falled into clutches of Zilka´s gang he would question them, search them and let them go. And often even pour few ducats to their hats or give them some cloth. And for this common people liked Zilka never telling his current whereabouts to the nobility. Nobility many times organized real chase on Zilka but never succeeded in catching him. Zilka know the forests perfectly and moreover was getting information from poor and poachers. But nothing lasts forever. Once noblemen of Strážnice declared great reward for anyone providing information about Zilka´s hideout. Lust for ducats forced one of the poachers who knew Zilka very well to betray him. In one version of the myth Zilka hid in tree-top and fought soldiers, hunters and others to the lsat breath. Among them was the traitor poacher who didn´t escape Zilka´s vengeance. Zilka was rumored to have magical hat into which he caught all bullets fired on him. A soldier who was out of ammo reputedly bit off lead button of his coat, loaded it into his weapon and fired killing Zilka instantly. Or so the myth says. In yet another version Zilka got several serious hits in the hail of bullets of his enemies and when fire from the tree-top ceased soldiers climbed up founding Zilka dead. It was discovered later that Zilka was hidding his plunder into a tree. Zilka´s companions never revealed these information. In Bzenec one street is named after Zilka. Zilka´s oak still stands in the forest between Bzenec and Rohatec and is one of the orientation points there. It is state-protected commemorative tree. It is over 300 years old, 22 meters tall with tree-top spreding up to 34 meters in width. With 144 centimeters in diameter and girth 4,8 meters Zilka´s oak is among the most strongets, grandiose and beautigul trees in wide surroundings. Zilka´s oak is located in area of blown sand near educational path. Do not consider the text below a multicache. It is just directions how to best get to Zilka´s oak because after 20 years we were looking for it for 2 hours ;-). As the first point on the way to Zilka´s oak we have marked place on following coordinates: N48.94222° E17.29138°. Nearby you can check over Bechtel´s monument or set off for near-by cache „Moravska Sahara“. Here you can leave your car and set off along educational path or cautiously continue up the low quality road to the right to coordinates: N48.93734° E17.28692° where is small parking on the right. There you will park your car. To get there pass the saw-mill across one rail. Then we recommed you to continue on foot , on bike or roller skates. Beautiful narrow road is used by cyclists and roller skaters and car without permission is not allowed there. If you will follow blue turistic path around Littner child camp there is „do not enter“ notice there so please respect it and continue the blue turistic path.
