Geocache Description:

A traditional cache located within Twiland Wood (Halesowen), the cache location can be accessed via a number of rights of way notably the Monarchs Way or the locally known Illey Way. The Viaduct

The impressive Dowery Dell viaduct was a major feature of the Halesowen Railway and it required substantial engineering effort, many relics of which remain in place. The viaduct itself was demolished in 1964 as part of the building of the nearby M5. Waseley Hills Country Park is the best starting point for a visit to Dowery Dell viaduct. The signposted 'IIley Way' footpath starts near to the car park and leads directly to the viaduct. To get to the footpath turn left outside the car park and cross the M5 motorway. Turn right into Newtown Lane and the Illey Way leads off to the left after about 50 yards. The cache is a regular sized Klip&Lock (1000ml) positioned within Twiland Wood. Please be aware this walk involves a very pleasant round trip of approximately 3 miles along field hedge lines and woodland. This can, however, be very muddy during adverse weather. Trading
