This is the only cave in Europe which can be crossed by car.
This cave was formed 60 million years ago. It is a dry cave protected by a clay lid that prevents water from infiltrating. Man lived there during the Magdalenian and Azilian periods.
Weapons, tools and artwork have been found in this cave. This cave was also inhabited during the last ice age by animals like bears, mammoths and woolly rhinoceros.
It has also been used for refuge by the Christians during the first centuries, then the Cathars and the Protestants.
You will cross by car through the cave where our dear Prehistoric men and women lived.
What you have to do :

* Between which dates did the "Magdaléniens" live ?
You can log the cache without our confirmation, but you should

C'est la seule grotte en Europe qui peut être traversée en voiture.
Cette grotte c'est formée il y a quelques 60 millions d’années.C'est une grotte séche protégée par un couvercle d’argile qui prévient des infiltrations d'eau.
L'Homme vivait là durant la période du Madgdalénien et de l'Azilien.
Cette caverne a été également habitée pendant la dernière période glaciaire par des animaux comme l'ours, le mammouth et le rhinocéros laineux.
Elle a été aussi utilisée comme refuge par les Chrétiens au premier siècle, puis par les Cathares et les Protestants.
Vous traverserez en voiture cette grotte où vivaient nos chers femmes et hommes préhistoriques.
