Geocache Description:

Affectionally know as the smallest desert in the world, this area was orginally covered by a large glacier lake. As the glaciers retreated causing lower water levels, sandy lake bottoms material was left behind. Strong prevailing winds from Lake Bennett have constantly worked this sand making it difficult for vegetation to become established.

I had two very special friends from Newfoundland visiting in August and when I took them to this spot they were amazed that it existed and couldn't believe there was no geocache hid here so this cache is dedicated to all special/wonderful/amazing friends who share a lot of memories/adventures and fun together. The cache is a small peanut butter jar camflouged well. Your gps should bring you right to the cache.

I thought it was time for somebody to hide a cache here so others could enjoy this beautiful area.

At the time of planting it contained some neat things and two travel bugs. Dropping in for a visit are Susanne and Azuli travel bugs. Azuli would like to travel to Alaska so hopefully sombody travelling to Skagway will pick it up and Susanne just wants to travel.

I hope you enjoy finding this cache as much as I did hiding it.
