MrsBunders: Went to cache site to replace container, but youths in close proximity to tree made it impossible to replace today, in view of this cache being muggled on two previous occasions and not being able to access it today, we feel it more appropriate to archive the listing and not replace, we do not feel that the cache would survive for very long if replaced again.

Geocache Description:

This cache is on Ministry of Defence land known as Friday Woods to the South of Colchester. Friday Woods is an army tactical training area, not involving live firing and is open to the public. It is extremely popular with dog walkers, cyclists and horse riders alike and may be accessed all year round. Please see this PDF file for more information: - (visit link)

Friday Woods, part of the Roman River Site of Special Scientific Interest, is ancient woodland, modified in places by plantations of conifers and sweet chestnut. The woodland has spread out over the last century, with secondary woodland and scrub interspersed with open grassland and heathland. It is a beautiful area and is well worth a visit.

I have been granted kind permission from the East Anglia Training Area HQ to place this cache. They have asked us to stick by a few little rules:

Keep dogs on a lead.
No vehicles allowed in the training area.
Keep clear of training soldiers.

Please rehide the cache carefully as the average squaddie wouldn’t know about our game and might muggle it. There are plenty of leaves around to camouflage it from the camouflaged!
